The SAJC Concert Band is holding their 2010 Band Tune-In !

And we're extending an invitation especially to all Secondary school Band Members who graduated in 2009 (& even 2010!!)to join us on this fun-filled and musically challenging event.

It'll be held in:

1) SAS Band Room of St. Andrews Secondary School (REPORTING VENUE)

2) SAJC Band Room of St. Andrews Junior College

Both in St. Andrews Village, Address: Potong Pasir Ave 1.On the 9th of January 2010

It'll begin at 10am to 3:30pm

Kindly arrive at least 20 mins before the mentioned time

for us to facilitate the event better (thanks!)

Dress code is flexible, though we would strongly recommend

School Attire with Band Tee and extras to change into

for your own comfort.

Registration can be made via email and on the day itself, please email your info in the following format to mailto:sajcband0910@gmail.com.

Mr Tan wrote us a letter on 17th April, here it is:

Dear SMSB,

Yesterday night, someone smashed my car window at 3am and stole things from my car! It was very upsetting, but my wife said, "hey, let's not get upset! We're still at the celebration mood because SMSB got a Gold!" That immediately brought a smile to my face! I can never forget the wonderful moment when I heard your results announced via long distance telephone! It was unforgettable and I really wished that I was there celebrating wiith everyone! I am so proud of all of you! This SYF preparation began in June last year when we started practising Jericho. It has been a long journey and I am so delighted that SMSB made it! Hooray!

In the midst of celebrations, please remember to thank your current teachers and instructors, which I am sure you have already. Ms Wee has been with the band so many years and has simply been an excellent support. Mr Lim taught all of you from zero, lovingly and patiently training you for so many years, you better thank him for his blood, sweat, and tears. Despite joining SMSB for only a short time, Ms Zee, Mr Chew, and Ms Chong have all contributed immensely to the band. They made so much efforts to connect with you and I am really impressed by the quality of their work. Also, do not forget Mrs Tan our principal. Do write her a thank you note as a band. I marched to her office several times to request for instruments, and it is all thanks to her that we have complete instruments today including exotic instruments like double basses and contra bass clarinets.

Please do not forget the many people in the past who made your success possible. You can't suddenly become a Gold medal band overnight, and you must know that your achievement is that cumulative efforts of many people both from the past and present. People from the past who are not with you now are likely to be erased from memory as time passes, but I want to make this last attempt for you to remember your roots.

Firstly, you mustn't forget the late Mrs Caroline Lee. Many of you may not know her, but she was the main driving force behind the major transformation of the band in 1999. She changed the band from outdoor into a concert band, hired me as the new conductor, gave us such a big and wonderful band room, and made those green cupboards in the band room for us. Take good care of those cupboards, and tell your juniors to do so, for that was the last present she gave us before she passed away. Secondly, you mustn't forget the many dedicated teachers in charge in the past: Mr Hoo, Mrs Kwok, Ms Tay, and Ms Chang. They did many things you didn't see, worried for you in ways you didn't imagine. Thirdly, you must thank all your alumni for their support. They were the ones who passed down skills to you, and I hope that tonight, you would find them on facebook and drop a simple thank you to your previous senior or SL.

Finally, I am going to be thick-skinned and tell you to remember me, or I shall feel even more upset than my car getting smashed! I on my part wiill never forget SMSB. This is the band that got me the first Gold medal and helped me in my career. This is the band which I conducted my first full length concert. This is the band I went on my first overseas trip. This is the ONLY BAND I taught for nine years and celebrated my birthday every single year. There is something special about the uniform that you wear that will always hold special significance for me. Though I am no longer your conductor, know that you are always remembered and loved by me.

As you celebrate your wonderful achievement at the SYF today, do it with a heart of gratitude of all that everyone has done for you. As the Chinese saying goes, "Do not forget the source of the water that you are drinking from." Have a heart of gratitude and thankfulness, just as our Lord Jesus would command. United we stand, divided we fall, SMSB rocks and will always rocks my socks!!!

WE DID IT! :D

We've gotten our GOLD back! I'm very very extremely and super proud of the band and every single one of you! We did it! Our music touched the audience and the judges as well. We've come so far& we've gotten what we really deserved. We've improved alot since the beginning of SYF preparations. We didn't let those who are supporting us down. The school, our teachers, our seniors, Ms Chong and Mr Tan. We've done the school, the band, our seniors and our instructors proud. Today's performance was just really great! We maintained our standard and remembered everything Ms Chong taught& have really gotten used to the changes made just in the past two days. Our GOLD was certainly well- deserved! We really made a big difference just within this 2 days. All our hard work and efforts have been paid off. I'm just very proud of you all! Okay, I can't really put my happiness into words, but WE DID IT!!

I believe that this whole SYF experience had been a very memorable one for everyone& we certainly won't forget today, 8th April 2009! We really rocked the SCH! And we rocked Mr Tan's socks too. HAHA. Rmbr what he said- We'll always be the band closest to his heart. We've made him proud. We thank him for the support he've given to us, by staying up and calling back. We really appriciate that! And Mr Tan says not to forget him or he'll be very sad! And also thank you to the alumni, Ms Tay, Ms Chang and Mr Lim for coming down and giving your support. Most importantly, thank you to Ms Chong! Thanks for all the hardwork and effort you've put in into helping the band, teaching us, and bringing us to greater heights just in the 3 months plus with us! Thank you very muchhhh! Also, not forgetting to thank God for being there with us always.

For the sec 4E/ 5Ns, we've left a legacy behind. All those who are still in the band, continue working hard, strive for the better! Work hard for our Polka @ the end of the year! The 4E/ 5Ns will come back and join you for the concert [: Keep the spirit going and keep pushing yourself. This is only the beginning of the race, we still have a long way to go! And alws remember that no matter what, we can do it!

Tmr's the day! Tmr's our SYF! :D
We can do it!
Treasure every moment that we have on stage, we only have that 10 mins, that one chance. This is the chance for us to show off, to impress and to touch the rest. Remember everything that have been taught, especially from today and yesterday's practice. Just relaxxxxxx, don't be nervous, don't be scared. Do deep breathing. We'll go on stage confidently, play with all our hearts& we'll get back our GOLD.
We've come a long way since we started preparing for SYF. We've gone through many changes and we are still standing strong, in fact we are even stronger than before. I believe we have learnt alot from this whole experience and at the end of it, it's not about the medal that we get, but it is the process we have gone through. Just 8 months, and we have improved alot. To the sec 4E/5Ns, tmr is your last performance with the band, treasure and enjoy this last performance as a member of the band. We'll just go on stage, give our best, ignore mistakes. Remember, SYF is a festival, NOT a competition, we are not there to compete with the rest. The medal won't mean everything. Make use of our music to tell the audience a story, let them feel our emotions and sincerity& just enjoy yourself tmr! No stress (:
Regardless of whatever results we get, we know that we'll always have the support of our instructors, teachers and alumni, also our past instructors an teachers. SYF isn't everything, as long as we give in our best, we know that we are alr the best.
Let's do it tmr! We'll rock the SCH :D

Don't get complacent. Push yourself out of you comfort zone and set higher standards of achievement for yourself. Once you've achieved a standard of excellence, never let it rest -push yourself even higher.

Although we've been getting good feedbacks from the teachers and parents from Friday and Saturday's performance, but like what our teachers have said, there's still room for improvement. We shouldn't get complacent just by the good comment's we've received and slacken in our playing. Push yourself, set a higher standard for yourself. Only in this way, then we can achieve much higher as a band. Just 3 more days, lets push ourselves all the way. And no doubt, the Gold/ GWH will be ours :D

Also, please remember to sit properly! Close your legs. Don't give the impression that we're St Margs Coffee Shop, cause we are not. So please, sit properly, or at least try your very best to do so.

Also also, sleep early! Its very important to have enough rest and also enough energy. So, eat and sleep well, then we be fully charged, stay focused and chiong all the way!

Like what Miss Zee keep telling us about our tall genes& 'feeding' us with inspirational chicken soups. We know that we have the potential. We definately have the potential to do well. It's exactly 1 week away from our SYF. In one week, we can really make a difference, we need to bring out that potential we have in each one of us. What we are still lacking is musicality, like what Mrs Tan told us today, we need to capture the audience's heart, making them feel our music. Everyone is very important to the band. We cant spell sucess without U. Let's push ourselves just for this last week. I know it may be tiring right now, we still have to struggle with school work and all. But at the end, I believe that we'll learn and realise alot from this experience. For this last one week, just stay focus& take good care of your health! Drink plently of water and eat fruits& vegetables! Sleep early too! & come for band, being ready to chiong all the way [:

This is exciting :D
We've only 5 more practices left, make full use of them& put in your 100% for all remaining practices and play as if like you playing on the actual SYF stage.
And don't forget that we'll be playing for Mrs Tan tmr, the school on Friday& our parents on Saturday. Take these opportunities to perform seriously, like what we keep telling you, put in your all. We'll impress the audiences& touch them with our music, same goes for SYF day. This is really the last lap alr& I know that we can do it!& We won't let Ms Chong, Mr Tan, our teachers, our alumni, ourselves and the band down! :D

Dont give up now!
It is like (sort of) your last lap of your band journey for the graduating batch!
Give your best now and Practice like SIAO now and get what we deserve for SYF!
rather than SLACK now then REGRET later!

Dont ever think tht you are alone in this. (this refering to feel stressed out, tired etc.)
The whole BAND, TEACHERS, principal, sch, ALUMNI, MR TAN and MS CHONG is with every single one of you.

Hey watch this band play!

Although they were elementary school students, but i think they were great.
They played the piece with their heart and soul.
Especially the percussion section in that band. All of them were looking at the conductor while playing and they played it the way Mr tan asked us to play.
I m sure you can feel the music and all the hard work they have put into playing this piece.
Once again, THERE'S NO SUBSTITUTE FOR HARD WORK!

I hope this vid will motivate you in some way or another to practise harder and play with your heart and soul.
I would also like to complement on their posture. They have great posture and all of them sat up straight throughout the whole piece.
This shows how diciplined the band is.
If an elementary school band can do it, WHY CAN'T WE?

Turn your weaknesses into STRENGTHS!

Five S to efficient and effective self practice/sectionals
1.Set A Target
-Set a time limit
eg. Complete Jericho A to B within 60 minutes (Everything must be perfect after practicing)

2.Structure your practices or sectionals
-Majority of your individual practice times should be in small details
-Play through without stopping to have the 'feel' of the music
-After that work on small details, isolate problem spots and turn weaknesses into strengths.
-Play through the end agn so that you can put what you've practice into perspective.

3.Sequence your learning
-Practice small details in the following order:
1. Rhythm
2. Notes
3. Articulation
4. Dynamics
5. Phrasing
-Insert breath marks

4.Sing!
-Practice away from your instrument. Put down your instrument and try to sing a difficult passage. (To Relax your lips)
-Singing allows you to put a musical message into your brain so the body will follow. Try it! Once you can sing it, you can play it!

5.SLOW and steady wins the race!!!
-Slow down running notes till you can play EVERY NOTE ACCURATELY.
-Always practice with a metronome
-When it's perfect, repeat so that you remember it.
-Each time you repeat what's RIGHT, you form good patters in your brain.
- Thus, don't practice MISTAKES

Other useful techniques for section practice:
- Verbalising the rhythm(1n, 2n, 3, 4)
-Breathing exercises
-Fingering the notes without playing(kinesthetic memory)
-Buzz a passage(for brass players)
-Mouthpiece workouts(Siren)
-Head joint practice(for flautist)
-Practising rudiments(for percussionists)
-Practising with mutes (for brass players) to develop tone
-Dotted rhythm for running passages

How to have a GREAAT SOUNDING BAAANND?
1.Good individual sound (centred, resonant, full, round and rich)[ Most important]
2. Good Section sound and blend (sound of the best player amplified)
3. Good family blend ( achieve good woodwind and brass sound)
4. Full Band: Balance, Blend, Intonation (together with uniform articulation)
1+2+3+4= Great sounding band! full, resonant, rich and round

1. Individual
- Before the band can sound good, the individual Must sound good
-Go back to fundamentals: PEAR (Posture, Embouchure, Air, Reed)
-Good concept of Sound

2. Section
-Timbre* matching exercise: choose the sound of the best player, and match the section sound to the best player. Th Section must sound like one. The best player amplified
* means tone colour
3. Family
- Blend section sounds tgt Achieve new colour. Flute + Oboe = Fluboe!

4. Band
- Formula= Balance+ Blend + Intonation
- Intonation: always listen. Form tuning trios. If something is out of tune, assume it's your fault. Adjust!
- Play tgt with good rhythm and articulation! Otherwise, all sound concepts will not work!

5. A great sounding band!
- this is only the beginning! It is not the destination.
- the destination is a MUSICAL PERFORMANCE. A transcendental experience. A beautiful world! But, you can never achieve a musical performance without the BASICS, which is a great sounding band. So, work on the basics right now!

Hello!
Sch's reopening tmr, hope that you all have completed your holiday hw (; Heehee.
Remember for tmr's CCA fair rehearsal for main band, its 1.45pm in the hall.
And on saturday, report 7.45am at the canteen.
And there's sectionals from 2pm- 4pm aft CCA fair for the main band. Rmbr report back in the band room by 1.30pm.
Anw, for Mr Tan's farewell party on the 30th, I think we all enjoyed ourselves very much right?
It's a happy occasion. We should be happy for Mr Tan that he is moving on, that he is going for futher studies. The two pieces- Stand By Me and Nostalgia were pretty well done, we really put our hearts into the playing and expressed our utmost thanks to Mr Tan through our playing. And really a big thank you to the alumni for joining us on this day (: Well, of course we'll miss Mr Tan very much. We'll never forget all his teachings, all the hardwork and effort he'd put in these 9 years to bring our band to where it is today. And of course we'll miss his cold jokes which are even colder than the band room. Haha. Well, 2008 had been a tough year for the band, there had been many changes. Firstly was Ms Tay leaving, then Mr Tan, then Ms Chang. I know we all feel sad about their departures, but we shouldn't be held back by these changes. Going through these changes would only make us tougher and stronger as a band. We want to welcome the new teachers joining us, Ms Zee and Mr Chew, and also our new conductor, Ms Samantha Chong. Like what Mr Tan had said, we are really lucky that Ms Chong has agreed to join our band, to take us to a higher level. So I hope that everyone would cooperate and make Ms Chong feel welcome in the band.
This year is a very important year, we'll be having SYF. Everyone should take this seriously. Self- practices are a must. Remember everything that have been taught. At the end of it, I believe that it's not the medal that matters entirely, it's the process that we've been through, the hardwork that we've put in and how as a band, we overcome our weaknesses, obstacles and become even stronger. Like what Mr Tan said, as long as we do our best, we are already a gold medal. So let's all work hard together, I know that we can.

The A to Z Approach to Band Management
Rachel Ee
A for Accessories: Remember to budget for accessories!
Woodwind players need new reeds and brass players need
their instruments to be well-oiled, polishing cloths and swabs
are needed and band members must know the importance
of good instrument maintenance.
B for Bonding: Create opportunities for band members
to develop stronger ties. Organise band outings or even go
outdoors for leadership camps.
C for Concerts: Work with your conductor to plan for
concerts and other public performances. Establish a working
timeline and a checklist to prevent last minute panic. And
encourage students to invite their friends and family!
D for Discipline: Emphasise the importance of task
commitment and discipline. Set ground rules and ask
band members to work together to ensure that the band is
committed towards enforcing the rules set. Design the band
programme to include marching and drills.
E for Enrichment: Encourage band members to attend
band concerts as a form of enrichment. Budget for funds that
students can use as subsidy for concerts.
F for Fund-Raising: Some projects (e.g., overseas trips)
require some fund-raising efforts. Discuss with your band
members how to go about raising funds.
G for Grants: Check with your school administrator
concerning available funds for instrument purchase. File all
grant application documents and contact the band offi cers if
you want to check if your school is eligible for any grants.
H for Housekeeping: Keep the band room clean and
tidy. Plan a duty roster and remind members that it is their
responsibility to keep the band room clean.
I for Intervention: Monitor the attendance of your band
members and contact band members who miss band
practice.
J for Juniors: Work with senior band members to devise
strategies for the induction of band recruits. Work with the
band conductor to plan a good programme to motivate them
during the beginning stages of learning an instrument.
K for KISS (Keep it Short and Simple): Aim for short but
effective band practices. Long rehearsals can be very tiring
for the band members.
L for Listening: A lot can be learnt through listening. Build
up a library of band CDs and DVDs and encourage band
members to use these resources.
M for Motivation: Show your support for your band
members by encouraging them and affi rming their efforts.
Research has shown that social factors such as parental and
teacher support and interactions with peers are deemed as
being more important than amount of practice time devoted
to achieving peak levels of music performance!
N for Note-reading: Insist on music literacy. Band members
need to develop their capacity to recognise motifs and
patterns and cope with pulse, rhythm and metre as well as
tonality and pitch. These complex relationships form a basis
for learning and the band member uses them to develop
an awareness of the syntax of the music that they learn.
Knowing how to react to the instructions provided in the
music notation can greatly enhance the expression of their
performance.
O for Originals: Composers and arrangers devote much
effort to composing works for band. Do purchase the original
set of scores for the works that your band intends to play.
P for Practice: Rehearsals are ineffective if the band director
has to keep correcting mistakes repeatedly. Band members
should adopt good practice strategies to improve their skills.
Q for Quarterly Reviews: Do a quarterly, if not monthly,
review of the band programme. This could include a check on
existing funds, attendance, planning for upcoming projects
and stocktaking.
R for Repertoire: Ensure adequate funds to purchase new
music for the band. Consult your band director in the planning
process and make it a point to acquire pieces to suit different
kinds of functions.
S for Scheduling: Always check the school calendar and
make a note of the activities that may ‘clash’ with the band
rehearsals. It can be frustrating for band directors to hold a
rehearsal when many of the band members are not present.
T for Tutors: Engage instrument tutors from time to time to
conduct masterclasses so that students have the opportunity
of learning useful instrument tips and skills.
U for Uniforms: Remember to check if students need new
band uniforms and do keep a couple of spare uniforms in
the band room.
V for Vacation: Plan vacation practices early and
disseminate the information to parents/guardians of band
members. Remember too, that members need a welldeserved
break.
W for Washing: Make sure band members know how to
clean their instruments! Make sure band members know
what their instruments are made of and what materials are
appropriate for their type of instrument. For example, not
all brass instruments require Brasso polishing! Students
also need to know how to dry their instruments (beware
termites!). Woodwind instruments also need to ensure that
the instrument pads are dry so that there is no build-up of
mildew.
X for X-plore: Find new ways for your band to perform and
gain exposure. Consider planning exchanges with other
schools so that students can interact and learn from other
band members. Be on the lookout for overseas festivals and
competitions and work together with fellow teachers to plan
for such events.
Y for Youth: Asides managing the band programme, the
teacher-in-charge also has to know how to manage his or
her students.
Z for Zeal: Be passionate about what you do and continue to
inspire students with your enthusiasm! Above all, continue to
find new ways to improve on the existing band programme.

Enjoy this break, but at the same time don't forget to practice!

Next year is very important, it's SYF, which is about 4 months away from now.
Hope that everyone will work hard during this period.

POLKA! IV is about 1 day left. O.o
How time really passes...
Anyway, I'm here to just say a few things.

For the sec 2s, this is your first concert, so you'd better give it your all and do your best alright? Some of you may feel insecure about this whole thing and will think that you are doing enough. Well, if you think this way, then do something about it. I know it's a little too late to say this, but if you think that you cannot play well enough, then come back for self-practice. As the saying goes "practice makes perfect". It is difficult to perfect whatever we need to play now, but we should try and do it to our best abilities right? So yea. I have faith in you people. Continue to work hard and strive hard for the band.

To the sec3s. I notice somethings about you people - complacent. To be fair to the rest of the group, I'll say most of you. Not all of course. Complacency gets you no where. Really. If you think that you have already reached a point whereby you can already get 100/100 for Math, it is a total different story for Music and your Attitude. Is there a mark that you can based 'upon' for music (other than the O level music)? Answer = No. Even if you can get all the notes right, perfect pitch, perfect articulation, perfect rhythm, (which is all seldom the case)you still do not get a full mark. Music is not all about correct notes, pitch, rhythm, etc. its about the musicallity. The way you bring out the piece of music, the way you carry the music across to the audience. Different people will of course have different perspective. So, there is no such thing as a full mark. Same for your attitude. Be it towards Band, School, Friends or even your LIFE. How is your attitide towards all of these things? Many of you have that attitude of "oh. I come for band just to have my CCA points". Truthfully, almost everyone have that mentallity at one point of their secondary school life. It's about when you learn how to be matured enough to change your way of thinking. For goodness' sake! You people are already sec 3s and some of you are still having that attitude of yours. The sec 4s are going to step down REALLY soon and this will be when you all are the seniors in band. Sec 2s and 1s will look up to you. You want them to respect you? Or snort at you in disgust? It's up to you to decide that based on your ATTITUDE.

So sec 3s. Please WAKE UP!!!!

To sec 4s.
We are going to step down real soon and this will be our last concert in SMSB. So, let's PIA all the way okay? Make this the best concert of our lives. I know the study skills thing is making everyone feeling very tired and 'sian'. But HEY, gather up enough energy for band practices and save it for wednesday. Anyway, I hope that band has changed your life like how it did to mine. Okay. Not excatly life, but more of my perspective and attitude in things in life.

We must all work hard as the day is getting nearer. Only about 1 more month = 4 more weeks = 8 more practices + 4 sectionals. So in order to ensure that you play better, please come back for self-practice.

Hi all!
It has been a long time since this blog has been updated. Anyway, due to the water pipe burst thing on Friday, practice was cancelled and so was sectionals. So I hope that all of you will go back for self-practice because we really need it. It's only 49 days away from POLKA! IV (in case some of you still do not know, click on events. There is a countdown there). There is no enough time!!!

To all band members

1) please come like 20 mins ealier because we need to move the chairs and percussion instruments back into the band room.

2) be prepared to leave late because we need to move the chairs and percussion out again because the carpetting is not done yet.

To all committee and section leaders

1) Please get the job scope done by the 5st (softcopy and hard copy)

2) Get the questions for the interview ready by the 1st [this only applies to sec 3s of 07]

Hey..sorry for not updating this blog. Well, actually there is nothing much to update about since there is no band for now. Anyway, I think all of us have been really busy for the past two weeks. Maybe only last last week. Had the first recital cum section competition, followed by band camp, after which is Graduation Night, and last but not least, concert at CHIJ Toa Payoh Secondary School as guest performers.

First Recital cum Section Competition
Well, I think the sec 1s did a great job. Standing there on the 'podium', playing solo. All of them played well. Really proud of all of them to have such courage to stand up there to play solo in front of about 40++ audience. Hopefully this will make them more confident. Especially in their playing.
Section Competition. Percussion got 1st again. But this time, it is with the pirates. Their performance was interesting and the music was nice too. I think they really put in a lot of effort for this section competition with all the props, and their standard of playing that piece. It was really great. Well, the other sections were great too.

1st - Percussion
2nd - Doubles (and their cockroach song)
3rd - Clarinets (pink panther!) and Tuba+Trombone (with their titanic)

To all the other sections who did not manage to get into the top 3. It's okay. Just work harder next year and start preparing early. =)

Band Camp
Actually, I felt that this year's camp was rather slack. We didn't manage to play the day games and the wet game that we planned was cancelled because we had to end earlier than planned. I thought the food was quite okay this year. CUP NOODLES (the most healthy food in the world)!!! Movie Night was fun right? Getting to see our graduated seniors perform. Swing girls was a nice movie. Especially the boar part. I was practically laughing my head off (actually I've already watched it before). We were supposed to watch Drumline. But a lot of us have watched it already. So I think swing girls was a better show. I'm quite sure that most of you have not watched it other than the movie night. Received quite a few comments about the show. Thanks to mdm shufeng who lend the VCD.
I really want to thank all the mdm(s) who have helped out during this band camp. Mdm Vanessa, Mdn ShuFeng, and Mdm Hazel. Not forgetting those who just graduated and came back to sabo us. Well, what is a camp without sabo-ing.

Graduation Dinner
Hoped that the food was to everyone's liking. Was it? Although the decorations were a little simple. But it was still nice. Band slide show was hilarious. Section Tributes too. But i thought that maybe each section could have put in more effort.

Note to future SLs: You can start planning for the section tribute at the beginning of the year because it is a confirmed thing that we will be doing every year. So, don't need to wait for last minute then start rushing and coming up with not-so-good-ideas.

Programme ended earlier than planned but the time was made up with all the photograph session. I think that was the most fun part during the whole dinner. I think most of the pictures can be find in the photobucket album if you want to view them (I have to make it private because of school rules). Like I said, you can approach me to get the password for viewing it, either through phone, e-mail, or personally.
Clearing up was as usual, tiring. But thanks to those who stay behind and helped to move the tables and chairs down. I really appreciate it.

Performance at IJ's concert
So sorry for asking you all to come early to polish your instruments when the band room was not even open. Sorry. Anyway, had nomination for the next leaders thing, then had attire check (anyway, next time, please be auto and clip up your hair. I don't think you all need someone to ask you to clip up your hair then you do so right?).
Reached IJ and went to their hall to have a dry-run. Had dinner after that. The IJ people served us. THANK YOU!!! Some mdms came for the concert. The peformace was quite okay. Except for some mistakes (some were quite major though). The band got really high at the last part of the concert. We were practically singing and dancing to the music. On the way back on the bus, I guessed that everyone was really high too.

So that is about all the major events that happened. I don't think I'll be posting anything up here any time soon because of the break. Maybe some of you may want to post something up here??? Ask me for the user and pass =))

I thought that I should create a blog so that members of the SMSB can get to know each other more and get updated with the stuff that we are doing. So, if you want to post anything up here, feel free to do so. Just remember to leave your name so people will know who is talking.But please, no nonsense. Come to me if you would want to have the password. And if you do log in, please do not change the layout by yourself. Consult me first. I'll consider it, because this layout is done by me, myself. Don't waste my hard work =[
